I always imagined my 20's being vastly different than what they have turned out to be. I envisioned having an incredible job, loving life, travelling, having money (ha), freedom and - if I'm lucky -, I'd find the one and settle down.

Well, I can assure you I haven't achieved all of the above. In fact, anytime I feel like I've made any progress, I end up taking 10 steps back soon after. It seems that being an adult is really only 'pretending' to have it all together, because if you actually ask around, I promise you nobody knows what they're doing. Not a single one of us.

Being an adult really has not lived up to my expectations lately. And, if I'm not wrong, I think most of us by now are slowly realising that we were sold a dream back in the 90's. We are finding ourselves staring into the abyss of an existential crisis. And to be frank, all I truly want to do is lay in bed and take a nap. Ah. Sleep. You never let me down.

Technically, turning 25 should not have affected me as age is irrelevant to my character, but something definitely changed this April. I found myself no longer wallowing, and suddenly having an insatiable desire to do more, be more and actually help more people. My head is spinning with so many plans and goals that I've nearly knocked myself out trying to do them all. I want to write. I want to help others. I want to build a brand. I want to give my life a total makeover, and I know I'm not alone. We all know that momentary motivational burst of energy we all get late at 2am when we rethink our lives and all the things that led us here, vowing that tomorrow will be the start of a new day. Well, it's not 2am right now. It's actually 11pm. So, yeah, I do think it's going to be different this time.

Obviously, I'm joking about the last part. But this time things will change. I know this because my head aches from how excited I get just thinking about all that lies ahead. If you begin dreaming of a life you wish you had and it makes you so happy you can't seem to control yourself, then please just go for it. We are living in a time where there are so many resources at our fingertips, and an insane amount of ways to reach the destination we're seeking. Hell, do it with me.

Feel free to join me and let's get what we've spent too many late nights dreaming about.

It really is time.
